Sensations mixed media, video 14' x 8' x 10'
Sensations is an installation inspired by a surreal experience at Columbia Glacier, Alaska. I spent a day on the water off the coast of Valdez, photographing icebergs that broke off the glacier forming what appeared to be floating sculptures. The work referring to climate change, was created with industrial mesh, reflective material, mixed media, and altered video photographic images along with a sound piece by artist Francisco Eme. Eme’s audio fragments of iceberg cracking informing us about the fragile nature of glaciers as they melt and alter the balance of ecosystems.
